The new BMW iRoadster is now also on sales in UK, the engine driving force of the Convertible model developped by the Bavarian Group.
As for the i8 Coupé since 2014, also the the i8 Roadster engines are in fact produced at the Hams Hall factory.
We are talking about the 3-cylinder 1.5 liter Twin-Power Turbo petrol engine with 231 HP (winner of the International Engine of the Year Award) combined with an electric powertrain for one of the most advanced plug-in systems in the world with a total system power of 374 hp and consequent acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds.
The production of engines for the BMW and MINI models at Hams Hall will establish this year the new record with over 350 thousand units.
