First wireless car charging system by BMW from July
Starting in July, BMW will offer its first wireless charging system for electrified cars.
It will start with Germany on the 530e iPerformance, but later the technology will also be offered in the USA, UK, Japan and China.
Whoever buys the 530e iPerformance can also order the GroundPad, an inductive charging station to be placed inside the garage to restore the autonomy of the hybrid car without having to connect cables to the car.
Thanks to a power of 3.2 kW and an efficiency of 85%, it will be possible to recharge the batteries from 9.2 kW in 3 and a half hours for a consequent autonomy with zero emissions of 50 km.
