Golf GTI TCR concept unveiled at Wörthersee
On the occasion of the 37th edition of the great Volkswagen GTI gathering at the Austrian lake of Wörthersee, Volkswagen also unveiled as world premiere its Golf GTI TCR concept, a pre-series prototype that anticipates the new top-of-the-range version of the Golf GTI, wating for the European debut by the end of the year.
The engine is represented by a 2.0 TSI with 290 hp and 370 Nm of torque, power transferred to the front wheels through the seven-speed DSG transmission and the electronically controlled multi-friction front differential.
This is the road version of the 350 HP Golf GTI that has twice won the international TCR championship.
The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, but on request it can reach 264 km/h.
