Great Wall opens EV r&d center in Austria
Great Wall has inaugurated a research and development center in the Austrian city of Kottingbrunn to accelerate the development of key components for the future electrified range.
Initially, the structure will be responsible for the assembly of electric engines and related control systems and it will invest in the sector the equivalent of about 20 million euros by 2020.
In the coming months, Great Wall will launch in China a new plug-in hybrid car (it will be a crossover) to be distributed under the aegis of Wey premium brand.
Last year, the manufacturer sold 1.1 million vehicles, a result essentially stable compared to the previous budget.
