Kia: a compact sedan and SUV for the production start in India
They will be a compact sedan and a sub-4 metre crossover to officially inaugurate Kia's first Indian plant that will open its doors towards the end of 2019.
In particular, the SUV will be stylistically based on the Carlino concept that Hyundai unveiled at New Delhi Auto Expo last year.
The model will compete with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon.
Recall that last April, the Korean carmaker signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the authorities of Andhra Pradesh's Indian region to build the first production facility in the Anantapur district, whose construction work will start in the fourth quarter.
The plant will carry a total investment of approximately 1 billion dollars and it will have an annual capacity of 300,000 units.
