LG Chem in partnership with Enevate to reduce EV recharge times
Enevate Corporation, a California company engaged in the development of advanced lithium-ion battery technology, announced that LG Chem has participated in the recent round of financing launched by the company.
The strategic investment made by the South Korean company, one of the world's leading manufacturers of EV batteries, confirms the feasibility of Enevate's technology, which aims to allow the cars to be charged at the same time as it takes to refuel petrol vehicles.
Enevate's HD-Energy EV technology allows lithium-ion batteries to be charged at 75% capacity in five minutes, while also providing higher energy densities than those currently available for current long-range electric vehicles.
The batteries can also be safely charged and discharged up to -40 ° C and capture more energy during regenerative braking, extending their autonomy to the harshest temperatures.
