Mazda to produce its CX-5 also at Hofu plant
Mazda has announced that the new CX-5 crossover will be produced starting in November also at the Japanese plant in Hofu, Yamaguchi Prefecture, in addition to the main factory in Hiroshima where it is already assembled.
The decision is connected with the aim to satisfy a SUV global demand that is significantly exceeding expectations.
A similar operation has already been started by Mazda with the most compact CX-3 SUV that since December 2016 is also built at the Hofu plant to support the production in Hiroshima. Mazda aims to increase global sales to 1.65 million units.
