MG inaugurates its first plant in India
MG, the glorious British brand now owned by Chinese Saic Motor, inaugurated its first production plant in India.
It is the factory in the Gujarat region purchased by the Chinese and formerly managed by the General Motors Group.
The goal is to go on stream by 2019 with a capacity of around 80,000 units per year. The plant already employs some 70 people and for the operation the equivalent of about 300 million dollars was invested.
The initial phase involves the assembly of a C-segment SUV, followed by another sports utility in 2020.
