Mitsubishi Motors presents today in Bangkok the world premiere of the new 1 ton L200 pick-up, a global strategic model that, after the launch in Thailand with the start of sales scheduled for Saturday November 17, will be marketed in the other ASEAN markets as well as in Oceania, Middle East, Europe, Africa and Latin America, reaching a total of about 150 countries in the world.

The new L200 (which is called Triton on some markets) is the latest version of a model that celebrates its 40th birthday this year.

The pick-up is produced at the Laem Chabang plant in Thailand and it is distributed in the country by the local branch of Mitsubishi Motors.

In terms of competitiveness, the strong points of the new version of the pick-up are a more incisive design that integrates the latest declination of the front "Dynamic Shield", an optimized 4WD system that improves off-road performance and active safety systems and next-generation driving assistance.

Overall, the new model shows a decided improvement compared to the previous series of reliability and robustness characteristics sought by commercial customers and, at the same time, the comfort and driving quality desired by private users.

Mitsubishi plans to sell 180,000 Triton/L200 units (between new and current model) in the current fiscal year.

The pick-up is a key strategic model globally for the Japanese manufacturer and it is the second-best selling model in the range in the last fiscal year, after the Outlander SUV.
