New Kia K9/Quoris will also be produced in Kaliningrad
The second generation of the Kia K9, just unveiled at the New York International Auto Show and distributed in America as K900, will also be produced at the Russian plant in Kaliningrad, managed by the partner Avtotor, and in Russia will be marketed under the name Quoris.
Preparations to adapt the factory to the debut of the new flagship will start in the second half with a planned launch by the end of 2018.
The first generation of Quoris was also assembled at the Kaliningrad factory at the rate of over 200,000 units from 2013 to date.
The plant controlled by Avtotor builds many other Kia models including Cerato, Optima, Picanto, Sorento, Soul, Sportage and Stinger.
