Nissan to begin production of its Navara pick-up in China
The Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile joint venture started production in China of the new Navara pickup.
The Japanese carmaker and its local partner want to ride the wave of the growing success of this segment in the world's leading market where 2016 sales have grown in double digit for the first time in the last six years (+ 11% to 350,000 units).
Currently, the joint venture holds 10% of the pickup market share in China and it occupies the third position behind the Great Wall leader and Jiangling Motors.
The goal is to further improve the position in the ranking thanks to Navara, which is equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission to improve performances.
