Renault is betting on more SUVs in China
The head of China operations, François Provost confirmed that Renault is launching an SUV offensive in China.
The first goals are to import some models in the country, including Espace, and to produce the Captur directly at the Wuhan factory (today the vehicle is imported).
The Chinese SUV segment is knowing a great success, although this year's growth rate will be somewhat slowed down.
Renault is already active in the local SUV category with Kadjar and Koleos, both built in joint venture with Dongfeng.
According to Provost, in 2017 Renault will increase its sales volumes in China to over 70,000 units.
