Toyota Land Cruiser is the fastest SUV in the world
230,02 miles, or 370.18 km/h. It is the extraordinary speed peak reached by a Toyota Land Cruiser special series (made by the American division of the Japanese carmaker) that allows the model to become the fastest SUV in the world.
Knocked by over 30 km/h the previous record held by a Brabus Bi-Turbo V12 GLK.
The record was obtained at the Mojave Air and Space Port in California with former Nascar pilot Carl Edwards driving a Land Cruiser set up by Craig Stanton at the Toyota Arizona Proving Group and equipped with a V8 engine derived from the standard version, but with an increased power of more than 2,000 hp.
The car, known as Land Speed Cruiser, was unveiled at the 2016 Sema in Las Vegas.
