Toyota marks 60 years in Brazil with new Yaris
It was January 23, 1958, when the sales and marketing operations of Toyota in Brazil began in Sao Paulo.
Three years later the carmaker bought the land in the nearby São Bernardo do Campo to build what would be the first Toyota production factory outside Japan from where the Land Cruiser model was produced.
The Japanese manufacturer therefore celebrates the 60th anniversary of its presence in the South American market where it is active at the Indaiatuba (the Corolla is assembled), Sorocaba (produced the Etios) plants and at the engine factory in Porto Feliz.
The celebrations start with the local debut of the new Yaris, whose distribution will start in the second half with production at the Sorocaba plant.
