Volkswagen to build 2.800 charging stations for EVs in US
The Electrify America division of Volkswagen has announced that by June 2019 it will install 2,800 electric car charging stations in 17 of the major US cities.
The columns will be implanted in 500 different sites, in 75% of the cases at the workplace and in 25% in private homes.
Following an agreement with EPA and Carb, the German company will invest 2 billion dollars in the operation, 800 million of which in California alone.
The initiative is considered an unprecedented opportunity to promote the development of electricity infrastructure in the country.
