BMW iNext: the future electric car will have a curved display
BMW shows a preview of the iNEXT, revealing an absolute premiere of the interiors of the electric car expected on the market in 2021, which will be characterized by a single curved display geared towards the driver. The curved display element itself being held in place by an extremely slim magnesium bracket and will occupy the entire width of the instrument panel.
The display technology with non-reflecting glass also does without a hood for shading purposes, thereby giving the cockpit area a particularly tidy and uncongested look.
This integrated unit is also designed for the passenger, who can exchange contents with the driver using touch controls.
This is an important step compared to the dual display structure that has evolved so far with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional and 7.0 operating system.
